We made it to the zoo on Wednesday, but it was packed, so not as much fun as normal. We did get to see most of the animals, but it was hard to keep an eye on all 3 with so many people around. Kaitlyn and Lauren attempted to stay together, until one of them stopped to check something out (usually Kaitlyn) and the other ran ahead to the next animal. Alexa was just amazing the whole day, until the last 5 minutes in the car ride home. Not bad for a 4 month old. She must know that she doesn't have much of a choice, but to be adaptable.

Yesterday we had the "very best picnic ever", according to Kaitlyn. Bill took the day off, so we packed everything under the sun and headed off to the park. There were 2 great playgrounds for Lauren to run wild (nothing new), a great open space and windy day for Kaitlyn to fly her kite, and just plain fresh air for Alexa. We also had a great lunch for us all to enjoy. Then we headed to a different area, so we could chase the geese around. Lauren even tried to take her sneakers off and follow them into the river.

And to finish off the picnic, we headed for some ice cream. Not a bad way to finish off the best picnic ever. We also all decided that we need to do this more often. Not a bad way to finish off spring break.
Today Kaitlyn and I headed to Target, so Kaitlyn could spend her money. She just doesn't realize that $5 doesn't go very far, but she did do pretty well. I first told her that she could pick 5 things from the $1 section (I will teach her about taxes later). She found 2 little flower pots that could be painted, but nothing else to her liking. So we headed off to the book section, and she found a Backyardigans book that she decided that she wanted. She realized that she couldn't buy any big toys with $5, so the flower pots and book were perfect and she even received 10 cents back from the cashier.
