Yes I am finally getting around to updating again. We had a great trip up to Buffalo at the beginning of July. Kate and Ryan were gracious enough to host us all, and we can't thank them enough. Our 1st night in, we had dinner at their house with the family, and the girls loved seeing everyone, especially Luke and Aidan. Saturday we 1st went to visit Michelle's new house. I was so proud of Kaitlyn for telling Michelle that she loved it when we were leaving and then proceeded to tell me in the car that everyone wants to hear nice things about their houses. Hopefully she is always this considerate! We then went to my aunt Jeanne and uncle PJ's house to swim at their pool. It was mass chaos with 13 kids 8 and under, but so neat to see everyone playing together. Jeanne is the perfect hostess and nothing seems to phase her, even Lauren getting sick in her pool. Luckily, it was mainly all the water that she seemed to swallow, but still pretty embarrassing for me. Sorry, once again, Jeanne.
The 4th of July came and with it Buffalo's heatwave
for the summer. We went to the playground to play with some cousins, then back to Kate's for Alexa's nap. Then on to Wanakah for some races and games. Lauren loved swimming and getting her 1st trophy. Kaitlyn was happy to catch some goldfish that we proceeded to leave at Kate's. Alexa just loved being in the water. Then on to aunt Mary and uncle Duffy's house for dinner and the fireworks. Once again, mass chaos with even more kids and lots more adults, but always fun for me. The girls loved the jump house and going down to the lake to skip some rocks. I was a little worried about the fireworks, but all 3 loved them. We did get lucky because the neighbors had an amazing show as well as watching Wanakah's great fireworks. Kaitlyn did keep her ears covered the entire time, while Alexa just stared and smiled.

Monday was a slow morning, but then we headed over to Mark and Jennifer's house to swim in their pool. Lauren loved the slide, while Alexa loved the swing set the most. Monday night was my night out with the girls. My 3 sisters in town came, 2 of my aunts and 6 friends from high school, so we had a great time catching up. So much laughing, but I had lost my voice from a little cold, so I had a hard time talking, but I managed.
Tuesday was a quiet day with a free movie at Regal, books at Borders and lunch at Red Robin. The girls even went in our Slip n Slide to cool off from the hot temps that afternoon. That night Bill and I had a night out, which is always great. Sushi and then Boys of Summer at the Dock.
Wednesday, we dropped Bill off at the airport an
d then headed up to Grand Island to go to Fantasy Island with Jennifer, Luke and Aidan. Alicia and Jon were so nice to join us as well and were a great help with all the kiddies. They all seemed to rotate who they sat with on all the rides, so no pairing up here. Lauren was the daredevil of the group, no surprise there, and wanted to go on all the rides, although she wasn't tall enough for some of them. She went on the Pirate and sat between Jon and Alicia in the back row and loved it. Alicia was afraid she would fall out, so she try to put her hand in front of Lauren, but Lauren would have nothing to do with that. Kaitlyn wasn't up for much, but I did manage to get her on the UFO, one that spins and holds you back with gravity, for some Dipping Dots as payback. After some rides, we headed to the water park, which was great because it was so hot. A
lexa loved the wave pool since she would bob up and down in her life vest. Alexa also loved the lazy river and just wanted to float without the inner tube. Kaitlyn and Lauren went down the 2 big water slides and loved them. Then we went to the Wild West show and onto a few more rides. Luke and Lauren went on the log ride with Alicia and Jon and all got soaking wet. We were trying to go home, but every ride we passed Lauren wanted to go on, so it took a little longer than expected. Afterwards we were able to cool off at Mark and Jennifer's pool again. A great end to a great day and trip.

The girls loved staying in Hamburg and being able to walk to Tim Horton's for donuts. Too hot to walk to the playground though.
