Yes a new school year started 2 weeks ago. We had Alicia and Jon's wedding on Saturday, August 8th. Kaitlyn's 7th birthday was Sunday, August 9th when we flew home from Buffalo. Monday, August 10th was the 1st day of school for Kaitlyn and Lauren. Kaitlyn started 2nd grade in Ms. Eaton's class, while Lauren started her last year of preschool in Ms. Lauria's class.
It was a tough morning since we were all exhausted, but both girls seemed to have a great day. I had planned on making cookies, but a new neighbor had a sign to meet for watermelon and lemonade at their house, so it worked out for me. Lauren gets picked up at 2pm, while Kaitlyn's bus drops her off at 2:30pm, so it is perfect timing.

Last week, the 2nd week of school, Lauren had a high fever on Monday, so she stayed home from school. Monday night, she had a horrible coughing fit, so we went to the doctor that morning and she was diagnosed with croup. So after some steroids and sleep, Lauren was back at school on Thursday. Most mornings, Lauren wakes up not wanting to go to school, but by the time I drop her off at 7:30am, she is running into class and smiling and laughing.

This week, Kaitlyn stayed home from school yesterday with a high fever. She is back at school today, so I am hoping these sicknesses are gone for a while. Kaitlyn also had many headaches leading up to school starting and the 1st week of school. We have determined that they were stress related since she was so nervous with starting a new school and meeting new friends. She is meeting a lot of new people and seems to be comfortable with everything, so the headaches have disappeared. Hopefully, gone for good.

As for Alexa, I think she likes her time alone with me. She was a little lost without her sisters the first week. Now I just need to start taking her to the playground, so she can really enjoy herself.
