For Easter and the girls Spring Break, we drove up to Baltimore to spend time with Nana and Papa. We had a long drive up on Friday, so we spent Saturday relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. Sunday morning, the girls found their Easter baskets real quick, so we could head to an early mass to miss the crowds. They were so excited to get home to find all the Easter eggs outside, and even more so, when they heard change in some of the eggs. Now they may just want to head there for every Easter since the Baltimore Easter Bunny seems to be so good to them. We had a wonderful brunch, and the best part was that Lauren started eating and liking coffee cake.
Monday, we drove down to Annapolis to visit the town and the campus, but Kaitlyn and Lauren didn't enjoy all of the walking. They all loved eating lunch right on the water, but it was a little hard keeping an eye on Alexa since we were sitting on a dock without sides and she didn't want to sit still.
Tuesday, Bill flew to Minneapolis for work, so we just went to the playground and the bookstore, which are the 2 things they love to do while in Baltimore. Wednesday, we spent a few hours at the children's museum, which is absolutely wonderful for kids, but tough when you have more than 1 to keep an eye on, especially at different ages and going in different directions. The girls loved it, but were tired and worn out afterwards.
The girls love going up to Baltimore to spend time with their grandparents and play with all of their toys and books. The only thing I didn't enjoy was that their house is so bright, they were all up around 6:30am, which is totally different from here. Also Alexa would barely take naps since she would hold her poop until then and wouldn't go back to sleep.
The girls and I drove back Saturday, and they were really good for me. Kaitlyn was so excited to "be the adult" and help out with Alexa, that is until she had to do things while she was watching a movie or reading her books! We only had to stop 3 times, so the trip only took 11 hours, which was perfect since it is 700 miles. All in all, a great trip!
