It has been a fun filled Halloween weekend with lots of dressing up. Friday at school, no one was allowed to wear costumes, but they did have little parties. So Friday night we dressed them all up and headed to our church for a Hoe Down. There were lots of games with candy given away, painting of pumpkins, and near the end, clogging and Irish dancing. The girls were enthralled, and Lauren even started imitating the girls at the end. She may have it in her to try it someday. I asked Kaitlyn if she would like to try, and she said no because she doesn't want to travel to competitions like my cousin, Colleen's daughter, Kelly. I have heard a lot of excuses, but never that one.
Saturday, we had Lauren's soccer game in the morning, which Mimi came to watch, so Lauren was so excited to have another fan for her. Then we just came back home to clean, frost cookies, eat lunch, carve pumpkins and get the girls ready for another Fall Festival. The girls loved picking out what daddy would carve on each of their pumpkins. I did buy 1 big pumpkin and 2 small pumpkins thinking that just 1 would be carved, but they were excited to have their own design. So I guess next year, they will all need the same size pumpkins. Anyways, Alexa "picked" GT, while Lauren and Kaitlyn have 2 different bats on both of theirs. Then it was on to a Fall Festival with a balloon clown, jump house and the highlight, a hayride. We then headed to the mall since Bill needed some pants, and there was some trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, for the girls, the stores were all out of candy by the time we got there. Then we went out for pizza, and the girls were all excited because they give dough to play with and amuse them. We weren't too excited when told that they didn't have their liquor license yet. The table behind us walked out, but we didn't think it was worth the hassle with 3 little girls.
Sunday came and they girls were thrilled. I promised Kaitlyn that I would take her to Secretariat because she loves horse movies, and they are all going to a horse birthday party next weekend. It was a great movie, but she kept asking where the horse was since it took some time getting to that part of the movie. On the way home, she had to call her grandma to tell her all about it. It was a quiet afternoon after that, but we then ate an early dinner. The girls were dressed and ready to go by 6:15pm, but it was still light out and no one else was out, so we just played around for a little while. Finally, they were so excited to 
head to the 1st house. We met up with several friends on the street to go together. Lauren always seemed to be one of the first people at each of the houses. Kaitlyn held back some with her friend, Gracie, since they are both terrified of dogs, and waited to see if a dog came to each door. Alexa always seemed to bring up the rear, but might have had the most excitement out of them all. After our street, Alexa and Bill went home, while I took Kaitlyn and Lauren to a few more houses. No one else on our street wanted to do more, so it was just the 3 of us. There is a house that goes crazy with decorations, The Pumpkin House, so the girls really wanted to go there. We ran into their good friends, Raegan and Benjamin, so they were so excited. We did several houses, and then Kaitlyn was getting tired, so we headed home. Lauren did a few more that were close, but Kaitlyn just was worn out. When they got home, they had to count all their candy. Kaitlyn had 49 while Lauren had 72. I realized that Lauren didn't go to that many more homes than Kaitlyn, so she had to have taken that much more candy from each of the houses that Kaitlyn. Lauren is definitely not shy about things!
