Bill and I were finally able to teach Kaitlyn how to ride a bike! Very exciting, especially if you knew what we have gone through. We had tried everything (or so we thought), but lately, she has just been too scared to even attempt to ride at all. Luckily, one of Kaitlyn's friends just learned how to ride when her parents took the pedals off and had her learn to balance with her feet. So we tried this last week for about 30 minutes, then we put the pedals on and within 30 more minutes, she was riding on her own. We took everyone to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate a few days later, as promised. The only problem was that we tried to take her out again after a week, and Kaitlyn told us that she needed a goal to ride again. She couldn't think of a good goal and was probably afraid of falling once again, so no riding. We have finally come up with another goal, but it is hard to get outside to ride with Bill out of town and homework and activities for the girls. Kaitlyn knows she can do it, so we just need to get her to practice every day.
As for Lauren, we were going to work on riding, but she had been sick for the 2 days before, so we really didn't push it. Luckily, we didn't since she ended up getting sick again shortly after we got home. Not a fun weekend for Lauren, but that is why we waited a few days for Chuck E Cheese, so we could all be there. Soon enough, Lauren should be riding as well, especially if we get Kaitlyn going all the time.
