Sorry but no pictures today. I just haven't had time to download them yet, and I have some time to write instead. Summer is almost upon us, and I am almost dreading it. Yes my free time or freedom and my sanity are about to disappear for a few months. Just like last night, I will be using my nights to do all of my shopping as it is way too hard to do with 3 (or even if I just had Lauren). Kaitlyn is so excited to have no more school, even if she does love going to school most days. She is just ready to watch TV and go swimming all the time. I bought some summer workbooks, and she wanted to start them already, so it isn't that she is going to miss the work. Hopefully that will last, but not likely. Lauren, on the other hand, doesn't realize that school is ending, so she will probably be asking for Ms. Ana and Ms. Jill all summer. Alexa probably won't enjoy losing her solo time with Mommy, but then again, she will have more people entertaining her.
Kaitlyn started swim team last Monday and is slowly getting into it. Soccer ended on Saturday, and even though she wasn't too excited about it from the beginning of the season, she started enjoying more each week. It all ended with a party and a trophy, the best part.
Lauren would love to join swim team as well, but just isn't there yet. I am just happy that she wears a vest, so I am not as worried about her when she disappears on me, which has already happened too many times to count in just 2 times swimming for her. She just can't seem to stay in one spot for very long. She is also so unpredictable in her sleep patterns. Sunday she took a 1 hour nap and ended up being up until 10pm, even though she was exhausted. Yesterday she was so tired, she was whiny and complaining about everything at dinner that she went up to bed at 6:30pm and slept until 11pm, but then was back asleep by 11:30pm and slept all night. So who knows what tonight might bring.
Alexa is starting to roll over all the time now. She is even starting to sleep on her stomach more. She also found the mirror on her Exersaucer and is fascinated with it. I just am not sure if she realizes it is her or not yet. I haven't taken her swimming yet, but once the pool gets a little warmer, she will probably love it.
Friday our family went to get our pictures taken, and it was quite exciting. We did manage to get several good pictures taken of the girls, together and apart, and of the family. Who knows when we will do it again, so nice to have it done with. Lauren was even more wound up than usual, so we were lucky to get the pictures.
Saturday we took the girls to a carnival near our house. As you would expect, Lauren was so excited and running everywhere. Luckily it wasn't very crowded, so she did get too far away from us. I was quite impressed that both Kaitlyn and Lauren went on the ferris wheel with Daddy, and they both loved it. They then headed for a kid's roller coaster, which Lauren loved, but Kaitlyn wasn't thrilled with (too fast and jerky). Then there was a little obstacle course and big slide at the end. Kaitlyn was afraid of the slide (too high), so she skipped it, but Little Miss Daredevil loved it and did it 3 times. We had to catch her coming down the slide or she would have flown about 10 feet past the bottom. They both also rode some other rides and ended with the teacups, which they both loved, although Lauren had a hard time walking off it (just a little wobbly).
Sunday was the girls' cousin Natalie's high school graduation party, and they had a great time. Lauren was the unofficial door greeter, as anytime she was by the front door, she said hi to everyone and let them all in. She also made sure to say good-bye to everyone as well, even though she didn't know any of the people. They also loved jumping on the trampoline and playing with some toys. We are so happy for Natalie as she heads off to college in the fall.
Tomorrow we have year-end parties for both Lauren and Kaitlyn's classes, so it will be rushing from 1 to the next.
