If you haven't heard, today is the 7th day of rainy weather and we are expected to have several more. So it really hasn't been the best time lately. It was a long weekend since we were supposed to go to a friends' house on Saturday, so all of our kids could play together, but they had the flu, so that didn't happen. Instead, we made the unfortunate decision to go out for dinner. We really don't go out much anymore, and we soon remembered why. Alexa cannot sit still and was so interested in the baby carrier behind us. Luckily, the parents were holding the baby, but she wouldn't sit after seeing the carrier. Lauren acts up and doesn't want to sit either since Alexa is always running around. So we hurried through dinner and vowed to get take-out next time.
As for Sunday, we took the girls to Stars and Strikes, which is a bowling/game place, just to get out of the house for a little while. Kaitlyn and Lauren loved bowling, at least for a few frames. The really just wanted to play the games, but they finished up 1 game of bowling before heading over to the games. Alexa just loved walking around touching all the games and trying to ride/play them. Alexa also loved taking everyone's tickets out of all the machines. It gave the girls some fun for 2 hours before heading home and staying inside for the rest of the day.
Lauren was so exhausted from doing nothing most of the day that she feel asleep around 5:30pm and wouldn't wake up. Alexa climbed on her and we all yelled and screamed, but nothing seemed to work. Finally at 7:15pm, she got up to take a bath and eat some dinner. Unfortunately, Lauren was up until around 10pm, so the nap didn't even help her to catch up on any missed sleep.
We are hoping that it stops raining soon, but it doesn't look like it for several more days.
