Kaitlyn and Lauren have now gone to school 4 days this school year. Each has had their own experiences and good days and bad days.
Kaitlyn seems to be having fun and really trying to meet more people every day. She changes teachers in the morning, so she has different people in each class. Kaitlyn did have some issues Wednesday morning when she was crying that she wanted to meet her homeroom teacher, who is out on maternity leave. Her other teachers both seem really nice, but maybe it is just the fear of the unknown.
As for Lauren, it seems to be an emotional week. Monday, she got off the bus and told me that she didn't want to go back to school. At dinner, she told us that she got in trouble for talking and touching things in the hallway. Tuesday seemed to be a little better. Wednesday, we again found out at dinner that red means you go to the principal and she was at yellow. She told us that green is good, then yellow, blue and finally red. By bedtime, Lauren was exhausted and upset about something, so she tried kicking Bill in the face, which didn't go over very well. This morning was another emotional roller coaster with lots of yelling and screaming because she wanted to wear a dress and couldn't since she had PE today. This afternoon seemed better, but we may find more out at dinner. Now I am also wondering what tomorrow will bring. We know that she needs more sleep at night, but it is much easier said that done!
